The Benefits And Drawbacks Of Having A Child

Spread the love

The thought of having a child can be daunting for both men and women alike. Having a kid can change someone’s entire life and it usually has a bigger impact on women.

Having a kid or not is basically up to you but many people don’t really understand what it means to have a child. This is a big life-changing decision that can alter a person’s life negatively or positively, so knowing about what’s it like to have children can help you make a more informed and confident decision on whether or not you should buy the morning after pill online. Here’s my take on the joy and hardships of having a child.

The benefits

There’s obviously a lot of benefits that come with a child, they bring a different kind of joy to your life. Have you ever been cranky or annoyed when you see a child smile? They instantly help brighten up our lives and are an effective way of relieving your stress. On a lighter note, you can use them as an excuse for almost anything without offending anyone, you don’t want to attend an event? Just say that sorry nobody’s there to take care of the kids.

Kids can also help you meet more people, as a mother, I’d have constant trips to the decent pharmacy which is around the corner, in order to stock up on medicines, diapers and other necessities, due to my frequent visits, the pharmacists are pretty familiar with me and are readier to help me out. If you are a regular, you are more likely to be treated better in any place and this can become beneficial one day.

Perhaps the most important thing about having a child apart from the happiness they bring you is that you will have someone for you in your old age. There will come a time where you are old and helpless and your friends are too, knowing that someone is there for you at this time can definitely have a positive impact on your life.

The difficulties you may face

If both you and your partners are working, the biggest difficulty you will face is having difficulty in adjusting your work schedules. You can hire a babysitter, but nobody can be trusted these days especially with a newborn baby. If you do decide to go ahead with a babysitter, make sure that you do a thorough background check on her. Sadly, this isn’t the only obstacle in having a kid, you would have to take turns with your partner in sacrificing your sleep, and you would have to be financially ready to spend a lot of money for your child. This is a big investment, as you will have to pay for your child for the next 18 years. Moreover, you will have to deal with the emotional trauma that might come if your child has any long-term illness.
